A super cute local book, all about an industry that is not only very important, but also very dear to the Far North Queensland community!  Each book sold raises much needed money for the Dairy Farmers, and and as of the start of 2022, over $15 000 has been raised!

The story is about discovering one's self worth and will also educate children on the Holstein breed, the daily milking routine and the importance and value of the dairy industry to everyday life.

ABOUT HOLLY...

Holly was raised by 'Farmer Col' and his wife on a dairy farm outside Millaa Millaa in Far North Queensland. She was feeling bored with the daily milking routine.... and often wondered where her milk goes.

When 'Farmer Col' takes her to the local Show, she discovers the importance of her milk when she sees her face on so many dairy products. She also goes on to win 'Champion Cow'.

She returns to the herd to tell them all what she'd done, to explain what she'd learnt and what she had won. Holly then realised why people need her and becomes a Holstein herd leader.

Book Dimensions:  The book is 21 cm x 21 cm and is a rhyming story over 28 pages.

 Illustrated by Milan Samadder

ABOUT THE AUTHOR- RUSSELL SMITH

Russ grew up on a dairy farm, just a few kilometres from 'Farmer Col's' family farm outside Millaa Millaa in Far North Queensland, Australia.  After achieving an Arts degree in Asian Studies he went on to graduate as an officer in the Australian Army.  After a 23 year Army Intelligence career, including service as Australia's Defence Attaché (Colonel) to China, he retired to begin a commercial career spanning the Asia-Pacific region with Jane's Information Group / IHS Markit. Now retired on the Sunshine Coast, Russ remains passionate about the dairy industry. This is his first book, as a tribute to his good friend 'Farmer Col', in an attempt to recognise the importance of our dairy farmers, with the profits going to those farmers left devastated by the 2021 floods.
