Material- Cotton, Linen
Description- An original yardage, designed in Cairns, printed in Melbourne by a small run printer and hand sewn in Cairns.
The Tropical Vines yardage is inspired by walks in the tropics and all the beautiful plants you can see in the treetops and rainforest.
Beginning as hand drawn line work, the design focuses on block colour and a little abstract interpretation of the Umbrella Tree.
The design is part of the Botanica series, a graphic series inspired by the lush plant life found in the tropics of Far North Queensland that captures the vibrance, shadow play, perfect repetition and pattern found in nature. I wanted to play with abstract shapes, starting with simple, observed line work and then filling them to create bold compositions.
Teatowel measures 60cm L x 42cm W.
Teatowel is made from a mix of cotton linen fabrics.
Pattern appears on one side, a natural plain fabric appears on the back.
