A Fairy Tale for Adults, full of metaphor, inspiration & hope, written & illustrated by spectacularly talented local artist, creative & writer Brenner Lowe.

A machete-clad girl emerges from the dense forest floor, beckoning you into the shadows. Curiosity propels you on a psychological journey through the wild landscape of your mind. A tale of fear, hope, and the power of dreams.

The Fruit of Dragons: A Journey Through the Shadows invites you to step into a world where darkness whispers secrets, moonlight guides the lost, and the air hums with the echoes of forgotten dreams. It’s a delicately whimsical journey of the soul—into both the refuge and the riddle of the untamed human mind. Each turn of the page draws you deeper into the unknown, where curiosity stirs, fear awakens, and the aching question lingers: What becomes of the dreams we abandon?

A short, evocative tale unfolds across lush, full-page illustrations, painted in rich, earthy hues, and printed on thick paper stock. With a fabric spine and gold foil stamping, The Fruit of Dragons is designed to be a treasured keepsake—not only for your coffee table but for your heart.

For the introspective, the seekers of beauty, the souls who feel so much—this is a book to be held, to be felt, to be returned to again and again.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATOR

"I fell off the trampoline yesterday, filling my cardigan (and my hair) with leaf debris. The ground was further away than 42 years of spatial awareness prepared me for, and as I rolled, air heaved from my lungs, producing a deep grunting sound.

My ten-year-old daughter stared, then asked what I was doing.

Just doing life.

Big, beautiful, punch-you-in-the-face, awe-inspiring, magical, hilariously heartbreaking, incredible life.

I follow curiosities.

I put a word next to another. I picked up a coloured pencil. I slung a camera around my neck and started walking. I began a conversation. There is no more to what I do.

I fall off trampolines because curiosity put me up there."

I am a self-taught mixed media illustrator.

I write picture books for adults.
