This Bird Has Flown is the ever-evolving creative label of born & bred Cairns girl Kirsty Whoopee — co-founder of Makin’ Whoopee Gift Shop, a Fine Arts graduate, and a colourful soul with a deep love for all things handmade & made Australian. The name is borrowed from her favourite Beatles song, and her love of birds!
Kirsty has a long background in the arts & design industry, as well as visual merchandising, and her passion for Australian-made, designed, and crafted goodies runs through everything she does. A tireless champion of local artists and the arts industry, she’s also a busy maker herself — creating a wild and wonderful mix of products depending on what’s tickling her fancy at the time, from sewing to drawing & painting!
