ANGELINA PILARINOS PHOTOGRAPHY

Angelina is an award winning underwater photographer working on the Great Barrier Reef in Port Douglas, Australia. Her passion for underwater photography came unexpectedly as she had never lived near the ocean. It was in college when Angelina learned to scuba dive and then went on to travel around Asia where she decided to become an underwater photographer.

Angelina grew up in Westchester, New York, living only 45 minutes away from New York City she grew up in a fast paced city lifestyle. Going to the beach was far so it wasn’t until Angelina was an adult that she started scuba diving and snorkelling.

Angelina always wanted to be a photographer, she knew that from a very young age. Growing up she always had a Kodak disposable camera in her hands photographing everything she could. When Angelina turned 24 years old she started traveling and spending more time in the ocean; that is when she realized she needed a camera to document this whole other magical world under the sea.

In 2017 Angelina moved to Australia in pursuit of her dream to become an underwater photographer on the Great Barrier Reef. She quickly landed a job and now calls Australia home. The joy Angelina gets from her photography is a feeling that is hard to describe. But she is beyond excited to show the world what is in our oceans and bring people on an underwater journey through her photography.
